Proposal:Does Access to Technology Change Pedagogy?:A Hands-On Look at Interactive Learning Hardware

This session will be a hands-on look at various devices that are increasingly being used in classrooms worldwide. It is a chance to use devices such as interactive whiteboards and student response systems and to listen to some ways that they are being used in Hong Kong and other parts of the world. Participants will be encouraged to share their stories and experiences and to discuss appropriate pedagogy for a successful implementation of interactive technology into the learning programme. Discussion during this workshop will take the form of debating the issue of whether access to technology can be a driver for pedagogical change in classrooms or whether it just reinforces good and bad practice.

Devices on display will range from inexpensive “virtual IWBs” for around US$500 to full digital classroom fit outs including individual Student Response Systems.

Want to try to bring in this excellent tool for determining where on the continuium teachers are in their use of ICT for learning.
I want to also bring in Marzarno's excellent Wiki on Classroom Instruction That Works. This is a fantastic resource of tools that support the research into successful learning and a great use of a wiki to boot!
I want to also have some fun with the tools.
Hope you enjoy!

Hopefully it will be attached.

good morning Paul - firstly i want to congratulate you and Peter again for pulling this C21st Learning Conference together. it was much needed and really hit the mark. a thought: if the inauguration was a to this standard i can't even begin to think where the second one's going to go.

also, even though i didn't manage to participate in your workshop i was wondering if i could invite myself to join in the discussion?
