Web Quests

Look for decisions that you can get your kids to make as part of learning

* Create an opportunity

* Recommend a solution to an existing problem

* Change the situation

Scaffold that decision making experience by providing techniques that they can use outside the classroom

* PMI (+; -; interesting)

* Decions Tree

* Six thinking hats

Had a great session today Bernie - even if you were dressed casual ;-) Gotta love those airlines!

I am sorry we missed out on the thinking hats activity - but it was interesting the different ways that people re created the 'bad' web quest into a more meaningful activity.

Really learned a lot from this session. It make me think about the things we present to our students, where in many cases we have already decided what the outcomes will be and how just changing the situation could give them an opportunity for real decisions making. Fantastic!

I know web quests have been around for a while, the points shared on decision making help to evaluate the better ones. Web quests are something I need to explore more. Thanks for raising my awareness.
